This decal, seen on the side of The Ocean National Bank building in Keene, New Hampshire, may give folks from other parts of the country a small glimmer of a window into just *how* seriously New Englanders take their football. Usually I refer to my neighbors in this part of the country as "Yankees," but in this case, I'd be touching a tender nerve in the already hotly contentious rivalry between The Pats and their sworn and mortal enemy, The New York Yankees. Or rather, the rivalry between their two distinct and equally fanatical set of fans.
Many a day I find myself behind a New Hampshire, Vermont, or Mass license plate with a bumper sticker below it ranting: "Yankees Suck!"
And these folks mean what they say and are mean when they say it. But just in the sense of righteous expression rather than malevolent intent. I like that frankness in my kinfolk.
Most of the time.

Our speedy quarterback was the first player since the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970 (i.e. the birth of the modern NFL) to pass for more than 400 yards and rush for more than 60 yards in a game.
